Sundays: Worship 

Eucharist (Holy Communion) 10:00 a.m. every Sunday.  Fellowship time follows in Durkee Hall with good food and fresh coffee, etc.; first Sunday of the month is a Potluck dinner: everyone is welcome

Thursdays: Contemplation 

Contemplative Prayer 7:00 p.m. in the TaizĂ© style.  Spend a half hour in candelight, song, silence and contemplation.

Our weekly Bible is the most fun anywhere!  Informal discussion format. Current topic:  "The Acts of the Apostles"

We meet in Hoick Conference Room (upper level ~ enter from parking lot.  All are welcome any time! No advance preparation is required!

 7:00 p.m.  Ecumenical Candlelight Service.  Experience the joy of Christmas with bells, choir prayer and mystery.  We worship together with friends from the Ameerican Catholic Church and St. Michael's Old Catholic Mission.

 Sunday, December 4, 7:00 p.m. Hollywood Remembers' annual World AIDS Day observance premieres new documtary "Voices From the Fray" with Michael Kearns, Brian Frank and David Trudell. Reception follows. Panels of the national AIDS Memorial Quilt on exhibit.

 November 27, 2011:  Annual Congregational Meeting, Part 1 following hospitality hour:  We will elect new officers and council members for 2012, and review the proposed Budget.  This should be a brief meeting of voting members.  Please plan to attend!
 November 20, Christ the King; and a Day of Thanksgiving!  Combined holiday feast with On Ma Eum Church between our two worship services.  Come get stuffed for Thanksgiving!
 November 6, All Saints Sunday observed -- We remember those who have gone before us and are at rest in God's everlasting arms.  A candle will be lit as each name is called, and a bell solemnly rung. We commend all to God's compassion and lovingkindness.
 October 30, 2010: Reformation Sunday  -- We remember Dr. Martin Luther's courageous challenge to the religious establishment of his day.  Festival worship.  Wear red to church!
 Sunday October 16: Annual Oktoberfest!  Join us for a good time, German food and a lot of laughter in the Courtyard.  12:00 noon after Sunday worship.
 Saturday, October 1:  Annual Blessing of the Animals (anticipating the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi) at 10:00 a.m. -- bringing together a neighborhood of animal lovers, pets, kids and fun.  See ducks and chickens, cats and dogs.  Animal care and pet adoption information.  Always a free event.
 Sunday, September 25:  Dedication of the New Pipe Organ and Final 90th Anniversary Event.  Anniversary Dinner at 5:00 p.m., Organ recital and dedication follows.  Massive 90th Anniverdsary historical display on exhibit throughout the day.
 Lord's Prayer Day, July 17, 2011 ~ special Eucharistic liturgy featuring the "Our Father," new hymn paraphrase, etc. Our worship leads us more deeply into the spirit of prayer as Christ has taught us.
 Pentecost Day, June 12, 2011:  ~ the birthday of the Christian Church, and an ecumenical celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Wear red!! Your spirit will be refreshed and lifted with music, word and sacrament.
 90th Anniversary Celebration ~ Sunday May 22, 2011.Festive worship; brunch with live musical entertainment, historical exhibit, fun for all as we remember our roots going back to 1921!
 

Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011: The Resurrection of Our Lord; Festival Worship at 10:00 a.m.  Our holiest day in the calendar, and ecumenical service of praise, choirs, bells, joy and hope!  We celebrate with Old St. Michael's and American Catholic Churches.

Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.   Solemn rememrance of the judgment, crucifixion and death of Jesus, in prayerful thanksgiving for his victory upon the Cross.

Good Friday, April 22 at NOON:  Stations of the Cross.  Walk the 14 stations from the Judgment Hall to the burial of Jesus' broken body ~in prayerful reflection on his sacrificial gift of life for our sakes.
Maundy Thursday, April 21, 2011, 7:00 p.m.  Memorial of the the "Last Supper"; solemn Stripping of the Altar. 
Holy Week (Monday-Thursday), April 18-April 21: Readings, Contemplation and Prayers at NOON (less than 20 minutes); the Sanctuary is open daily for individual prayer and reflection at any time.
Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.:  Beginning of Passion Week (Holy Week), the most sacred week of the year for Christians.  Procession with Palms; Passion History and Eucharist.
Thursdays during Lent (March 17-April 14):  Join us at 6:00 p.m. for a simple free Soup Supper; and at 7:00 p.m. for TaizĂ© Contemplative Prayer in the Santuary; a brief service of prayer, song and readings (no sermon).  No prior experience necessary!
March 9, 2011: Ash Wednesday, the Season of Lent:  This solemn experience of our mortality is a call to deepen our own sense of spirit and the spiritual quality of life, so that gratitude for life, not fear of death, guides our days. Services at Noon and 7:00 p.m.
March 8, 2011 Shrove Tuesday Pancack Supper, 6:00 p.m.: The feast before the fast, our own little "fat Tuesday" -- come feast on pancacks and all the condiments you can want, in this annual guilt-free clean-the-refrigerator culinary event.
 January 22, 2011:  Reconciling in Christ Sunday:  our annual celebration of being a part of this vital program of Lutherans Concerned/North America and our welcome of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. 
 December 24, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, 7:30 p.m. (family-friendly time slot). The most beautiful experience all year, with candles, choir, bells, and favorite carols. After a hectic season getting ready for Christmas, come and let your heart overflow with joy!!

  First Friday, June 4, Los Feliz Art Walkexhibit and musical presentation of Beatitudes Banner and other serigraphs by Sister Corita, on loan from the Corita Art Center, as part of a multi-venue Art Walk Corita festival celebrating 40th Anniversary of Immaculate Heart Community. Reception and live music. Ongoing exhibit through August 31.

November 29, First Sunday in Advent: Prayers for Healing, Litany for HIV/AIDS ~ Worship at 10:00 a.m.  Join us to begin our spiritual preparations for Christmas and the coming of Jesus Christ into the world.

November 22:  A Thanksgiving Service and Feast -- Join us to thank God for our lives and our bounty even in these hard times.  Pray and feast with our family in a Thanksgiving Potluck following worship.  A brief voters' "Annual Meeting" will follow.

November 8:  Dedication Day --  the 85th Anniversary of the Sanctuary's dedication in 1924.  We will also dedicate new paraments and gratefully remember the gifts we have received (people and memorial items) from Holy Trinity Community Church.

October 18, 2009:  Mental Health Awareness Day.  Prayers and speakers for the diverse issues of mental illness which affect so many people:  depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, autism, etc.

October 15, 2008:  Second Teen Safety and Awareness Seminar,  jointly sponsored by Silverlake Children's Threatre Group, HLC and Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council; featuring: Kathleen Baty, author of "A Girls' Gotta Do What a Girl's Gotta Do".

August 9, 2009:  Old-Fashioned Church Picnic in the Courtyard!  Planned Potluck:  hotdogs and brats provided.  Bring dish to share!  11:30 a.m.
