June 12 Becoming Aware of the Spiritual through Contemplative Prayer Don Koepke Exploring the purpose and practice of meditation from within the Christian Traditionthat is very compatible with Eastern practice. June 19 Qi Gong: An Eastern Practice for Christians Maggie Flynn For weeks, Maggie Flynn has been leading Qi Gong in the Courtyard at HLC. She will share the spiritual as well as the physical and mental advantages that this practice provides. A clinical psychologist in private practice shares how he uses the spiritual to foster mental health.

Catechism and Membership
A new Adult Inquirer's Class is forming during Summer 2011. This is a 5-week unit of study with Pastor Dan, leading to baptism or membership in the church. No one is required to join, but may attend simply to get a better understanding of the Christian faith and our local mission.

Join us Wednesday evenings at 7:30, or come and share a potluck supper with us at 6:30 each week. We are lively, probing, questioning and non-traditional!

Gay Men's Study/Support Group
We have tossed this idea around for several years. The presence of lesbian/gay, bisexual and transgender Christians in the church continues to inflame people with disagreement, hatred and even violence. Why are we so accepting? Are we ignoring the central teachings of the Christian faith?
If there is enough interest, we will form a small study/support group, probably to meet in someone's home, to discuss the relevant things which support us in faith and grace. This is not a Bible Study, but something much broader, including plenty of time to share the life and faith experiences we have all had which either shaped us as gay people or sent us running away from the church for many years.
